And as Will is closing his eyes ... he see´s Hannibal hanging in Masons Cave ... and he himself is cutting his throat. The blood is flushing above him and Hannibal and he watches while Hannibal is gliding into the middle of the cave ... and he slides down to get torn apart by the beastly pigs of Mason. And just as he opens his eyes and Hannibal asks him about what he did imagine - they smile at each other. Murder Husbands indeed.
As Hannibal starts his appointment with Mason he prepares a scalpel in his sleeve, Mason knows what Hannibal did, and Hannibal knows what he is capabale of. He despises him for his behavior, setting his shoes on his furniture and he's just pushing his luck as he ramms his father´s knife into Hannibals patients leather seat.
His face tells us all we need to know. Mason made it to his first list. Considering a used hankerchief on his table is rude - what degree is this then ?
They are playing their game - and the first one to blink ... is going to get killed ... is he ?
As we see Margot we see a big ugly scar on her stomache. He literally branded her. So she knows this can never be undone, as Hannibal says to her.
As Graham talks to Jack - he doesn´t tell him the truth why Hannibal manipulates him to kill Mason. Not a word about Margots aborted baby being his. They want to catch him in the act. With two or even three witnesses.
And this is the moment where Dr. Maurier is returning.And we learn Hannibal persuaded her in killing her own patient. And she thinks that Will is not in control but that Hannibal has control over him. And that Hannibal wants Jack to think that he could catch him. That he is always in control about the things around him, always thinking one step ahead - and a rabbit hole on each possibility.
Jack still eats supper with Hannibal, and just as Hannibal is cooking, Mason visits Graham. So three unfriendly men try to capture Hannibal and he ends up killing one of them - but the other man teasers him.
And Hannibal is just exactly there where Will imagined him at the beginning of the Episode. Hanging above the freaking pig maze. He is teasing the man who got him - as Mason screams 'kill him and you'll get no money', and we see Will catching his eyes. And Hannibal just watches Mason like he is such a amusing thing. And as Mason is talking - he and Will look at each other - yeah honeymoon time Darling. As Verger gives Will the knife to cut him open. Just like he dreamed.
As they look at each other - he turns Hannibal around and cuts his straitjacket open. And the man behind him knocks him out. As he awakens - a great amount of blood is on the floor around him ... but as he gets the cable construction up - he only finds the man who knocked him out. No Hannibal -
At Will´s home, Hannibal gives Mason a Drug - and just like in the books he persuades him to show him his true face -
And moments of realizion and terror and madness and absolute highness strike Mason -
Meanwhile Will is coming home, Mason sits there in the shadows feeding Will´s dogs his own face. He doesn´t even realize at the start what he is feeding them. As Hannibal appears beside Will.
And I just laughed my - you know what - off. As Mason said : I´m hungry and Hannibal answers : then eat your nose - and he does just that. And they just stand there and watching him do it - like they're watching puppy´s playing with a bone.
Hannibal offers Will the chance to kill him but he answers, he is your patient Dr., you do what is best for him. So he goes over to him and snaps his neck.
And the scene changes and we see - well what do we see ... Agent Crawford is visiting Mason Verger - he is indeed not dead. He wears a mask and his neck is hold my a metal construction - he doesn´t say who did this to him ... saying he fell and broke his neck and his pigs had eaten his face. As we know from the books he doesn´t want the police to get Hannibal, he himself wants Hannibal to suffer - to die by his will.
As Crawford leaves, Margot is entering the room, saying : What I want is to take care of you, just like you did take care of me.
And we all know she will make him suffer.
Will persuades Hannibal to reveal himself before Jack. But what will he do ?
Will he kill Jack ? Is this the end ? Will Hannibal get caught ?
Are Will and Jack alone in this ?
